Dr. Ljuba Štrbac, Assistant Professor
Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad
The main areas of scientific research of Dr. Ljuba Štrbac are quantitative genetics and biostatistics applied to animal breeding. She has several years of experience in main breeding organization of Vojvodina. She has also conducted exercises in several courses in Genetics and Animal breeding for students of Animal Production and Veterinarian medicine at the Agricultural Faculty of Novi Sad. She is skilled at using computer programs for quantitative genetic analysis in animal breeding. She has completed a course in applying basic methods of molecular genetics, and multiple courses in statistical data processing. She has developed organizational skills.
Participants:
Msc. Eng. Momčilo Šaran, Assistant - Master
Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad
Msc. Eng. Momčilo Šaran currently works as an assistant in courses on Genetics and Animal breeding for students of Animal Production and Veterinarian genetics. His main are of interest is molecular genetics. He has years of working experience at the Main Breeding Organization, which is responsible for the genetic improvement of cattle breeding in AP Vojvodina. His master’s thesis was in the area of molecular genetics in cattle breeding, titled “Genetics polymorphisms of kappa caseins in dairy cattle”. He has completed a course in applying the basic methods of molecular genetics.
Dr. Mirko Ivković, Assistant Professor
Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad
Dr. Mirko Ivković’s area of research is animal feeding, most of all feeding of ruminants. He is currently employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture. He is trained to work in the software “Statistica”. He has advanced skills in using Excel for modelling and data processing in animal breeding, as well as knowledge of VBA programming.
Dr. Nebojša Dedović, Assistant Professor
Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad
Dr. Nebojša Dedović’s areas of research are Mathematics, Statistics, Applied mathematics, Partial differential equations. He is trained to work in the following software: Mathematica, Statistica, MatLab – data analysis. His skills are important in this project for the selection, calculation and construction of mathematical models.
Dr. Doni Pracner, Assistant Professor
Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad
Dr. Doni Pracner‘s area of research are: Computer science, software evolution, software engineering, data mining, and machine learning. He has experience with making applications that process animal data and their relations, parsing and adapting such data, managing data bases, and creating web sites. Due to the fact that genetic analysis results in a large amount of data, and that they need to be specifically handled for different programs, his skills will be of great value for the successful realization of the project. His main tasks will the creation of software tools for handling the data and the creation of the web site for the public availability of these results.
Dr. Laslo Tarjan, Associate Professor
Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad
Dr. Laslo Tarjan’s areas of expertise are: Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Sensor Networks, and Automatic Identification. He has experience in software aided data collection, processing and analysis, Deep Learning (machine learning based predictions), and in presenting the results in form of presentations and web sites. His skills will be applied in the development of software tools that will handle the data, and the machine learning tools that will evaluate the genetic for breeding selection. He will also be involved in the dissemination of the results, specifically the web site that will contain all the public data of the project.
